Knitted in a multiple of 3 stitches  and a 4-row repeat.
Row 1 (RS): * Knit 2 sts together but do not slip from needle, then knit the first stich again, and slip both stitches from needle together, knit 1; repeat from * to end.
Row 2: Purl all sts.
Row 3: * Knit 1, knit 2 sts together but do not slip from needle, then knit the first stich again, and slip both stitches from needle together,; repeat from * to end.
Row 4: Purl all sts.
