How to knit the K5tog

  1. Slip slip knit (ssk).
  2. Knit 3 together (k3tog).
  3. Pass the ssk stitch over the k3tog stitch.

Worked Flat

Cast on a multiple of 6 stitches + 1.

  • Row 1 – Right side: P3, *k1, p5; work from * to last 4 stitches, k1, p3.
  • Row 2 – Wrong side: K3tog, *yo, (k1, yo, k1) in the same stitch, yo, k5tog; work from * to last 4 stitches, yo, (k1, yo, k1) in the same stitch, yo, sssk.
  • Row 3: K1, *p5, k1; work from * to end.
  • Row 4: P1, *k5, p1; work from * to end.
  • Row 5: K1, *p5, k1; work from * to end.
  • Row 6: (K1, k1-tbl) in first stitch, *yo, k5tog, yo, (k1, yo, k1) in the same stitch; work from * to last 6 stitches, yo, k5tog, yo, (k1, k1-tbl) in last stitch.
  • Row 7: P3, *k1, p5; work from * to last 4 stitches, k1, p3.
  • Row 8: K3, *p1, k5; work from * to last 4 stitches, p1, k3.

Repeat rows 1–8.
