Two Color Dip Stitch

How to knit the Dip stitch

  1. Insert the right needle into the front under the purl loop of the stitch 6 rows below the next stitch on the left needle.
  2. Wrap the yarn counterclockwise around the right needle and pull the yarn through that loop to create an extra stitch. [Image]
  3. Knit the next stitch as normal
  4. Pass the extra stitch over the last knitted stitch.

Color A
  • Cast on: A multiple of 8, + 3.
  • Setup row: Purl.

Main Pattern

Color B
  • Row 1 – Wrong side: Purl.
  • Row 2 – Right side: Knit.
  • Row 3: Purl.
  • Row 4: Knit.
Color A
  • Row 5: Knit.
  • Row 6: Knit 1, *dip-st, knit 7; work from * to last 2 stitches, dip-st, knit 1.
Color B
  • Rows 7–10: Repeat rows 1–4.
Color A
  • Row 11: Knit.
  • Row 12: Knit 5, *dip-st, knit 7; work from * to last 6 stitches, dip-st, knit 5.

Repeat rows 1–12.
